Coordination Estimator Disclaimer
Coordination of Pension Has Significant Long Term Financial Effects
Please review all information in this section carefully before making any decision. "Coordination" means you can receive a higher monthly pension payment up to the age of 65, but after age 65, your monthly pension payment will be reduced permanently to less than what it would have been without coordination.
You do not have to coordinate your pension, but if you choose to do so, then the choice cannot later be changed once your pension starts to be paid.
Within the limits set out in your Pension Options Package, you are solely responsible for choosing the amount of the coordination increase (and subsequent decrease) in your pension.
More Information on The Choice of Coordination of Your Pension
Please ensure that you have carefully read all of the coordination information contained in the Coordination Information Sheet, as well as your pension options or pension estimate package, to understand the pros and cons, and effects of Coordination.
This Is Not A Calculation of Actual Coordination Benefits and Reductions
The results of using this coordination estimating tool is not a calculation of your actual monthly pension payment increase or decrease, because your pension will be audited before payment. Pensions must be paid in accordance with legislative provisions in place at the time you retire, which is verified during the audit. What this tool allows you to do is to input what you guess could be your possible retirement age scenarios, and it applies the factors supplied in your pension estimate or Pension Options Package. The results are intended to illustrate the approximate differences between coordinating and not coordinating your pension. Your actual pension amounts based on your actual future choices could turn out to be quite different from these numbers.
As a result, the information you provide and the results that are created are for your information only, and are not reviewed, audited or verified by the Management Employees Pension Plan (MEPP) or MEPP's administrator, Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS), and are in no way binding on MEPP or APS regarding the eventual calculation of coordination payment/deduction amounts.
Seek Professional Advice About Coordination of Pension
